Men fined for using Oklahoma company’s pipeline for target practice

Two years after two men used a Minnesota pipeline owned by Magellan Midstream Partners of Oklahoma for target practice, causing a massive diesel fuel leak, they were ordered by a federal judge to pay $1.1 million in damages.

It was in 2019 when the two men shot at the line causing a leak of more than 3,900 gallons of diesel fuel into a creek that feeds a river.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports the fine was leveled after the two men pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.
