Two counties in eastern Kansas are considering new regulations putting restrictions on solar farms after NextEra Energy Resources announced plans for one of the largest solar farms in the nation.
E & E News reports that leaders in Johnson and Douglas Counties, locations near Lawrence and Kansas City were prompted by NextEra’s proposed 320-megawatt project on 3,500 acres in the two counties.
