Energy leaders in North Dakota seems to think that the development of underground storage of carbon emissions might more than offset the loss of the state’s status as the second biggest oil producer in the U.S.

The Bismarck Tribune reports the carbon storage momentum might offset the disappointment of officials to recent word that New Mexico is now the second largest oil producing state.
