Governor proclaims Texas won’t become nuclear waste dumping ground

 

While the federal government has permitted a private firm to develop a nuclear waste site in West Texas, the governor has another view—his state won’t allow it.

“”Texas will not become America’s nuclear waste dumping ground,” tweeted Gov. Greg Abbott who railed in light of the action this past week by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission which approved a license for Interim Storage Partners to store as much as 5,000 metric tons of radioactive waste.
