Custer County the site of a 2nd large gas well by Continental Resources

Newly filed completion reports show Continental Resources brought in yet another large natural gas well in western Oklahoma while also completing four wells on a single pad in Grady County.

The gas well is in Custer County where the Swartzendruber 2-22-15xhm is located at 27 14N 14W a site north of Weatherford and south of the town of Thomas. The well had production of 29,631 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 24,617 feet in the Mississippian.

The completion report showed a spud date in April 2021 and drilling was finished in May with completion made June 25, 2021.

It was the second Swartzendruber well to have large production. In early September, Continental filed a completion report for the Swartzendruber 3r-27-22xhm located at 34 14N 14W and its production was also 29,631 Mcf of natural gas. The drilling depth was 24,922 feet in the Mississippian as OK Energy Today reported Sept. 7, 2021.

It had a March 25, 2021 spud date and drilling was finished on May 14 of this year. Completion came July 8 and the first production was recorded on July 12 with sales to Enable Production.

Continental Resources also reported the completion of 3 more Mcbryde wells on the same pad where an earlier well had been completed in Grady County. The 4 Mcbryde wells are located at 23 6N 5W, a site about 4 miles southwest of the town of Dibble and apparently were DUCS or drilled and uncompleted wells from 2019. The company might have sat on the wells and did not carry out completion work until this year.

The first well, completed in March 2020 had production of 40 barrels of oil a day and 118 Mcf of natural gas. Its completion report showed a spud date in October of 2019 and a drilled depth of 22295 feet.

The three remaining wells on the same pad had production of 88, 123 and 102 barrels of oil a day. Combined production from the four wells was 353 barrels of oil a day.

The Mcbryde Fiu 4-23-26xhw was completed in June 2021 with production of 102 barrels of oil a day and 227 Mcf of natural gas. It also had a spud date in October 2019.

The Mcbryde Fiu 5-23-26xhw produced 123 barrels of oil a day and 688 Mcf of natural gas from 22,282 feet. The completion report showed a September 2019 spud date and completion in June of this year.

The Mcbryde Fiu 3-23-26xhw produced 88 barrels of oil a day and 229 Mcf of natural gas when completed in April 2021 at a depth of 15,974 feet. Like the others, its spud date was also in the fall of 2019 according to its completion report.

Chaparral Energy LLC reported the recent completion of a Canadian County well.

The Hood 1006 2lmh-5, located at 5 10N 6W, a site several miles east of Union City, had production of 185 barrels of oil a day and 1,337 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 15,310 feet. Completion was reported to be June 19, 2021 following a May 10, 2021 spud date.
