Despite fallen crude oil prices, energy stocks made gains

Oil prices drop—farewell to $75 oil in the US – Oklahoma Energy Today

 

Growing concerns about cases of the Delta coronavirus variant sent crude oil prices lower in Tuesday’s trading while energy stocks made gains.

West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 70 cents or 0.98% to finish the day at $70.56 a barrel.

Global benchmark Brent crude finished the day down 48 cents or 0.66% at $72.41 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

The impact on Oklahoma energy stocks was mixed.  One one hand, Cypress Environmental realized a 12% gain for the day while on the other hand, SandRidge Energy lost nearly 6%.

It turned out to be a good day for most other energy stocks according to the Texas Energy Report which showed Pioneer Natural Resources gained nearly 8%.
