Corporation Commission to reopen headquarters

Political divide on reopening could complicate NH's pandemic response - NH Business Review

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is preparing to reopen the Jim Thorpe building which houses its headquarters at the State Capitol to the public following its closure due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

Plans call for the building to be reopened after June 12 according to Tim Rhodes, the commission’s Director of Administration who briefed commissioners on Wednesday.

“On June 15th, we’ll be ready to welcome customers back to the building,” he said, explaining how staff members went through a run-through on Tuesday on new procedures in handling the public who might have business dealings in the building.

“Been a great team effort,” said Rhodes as he told how employees of every division went through a “mockup customer experience.”

The public will still be greeted by security officers then directed to the offices where customers might have business.

“That’s our goal–a good customer experience,” added Rhodes.

Until the June 15 reopening, some employees still wear masks during the commission meetings while the commissioners are separated by plexiglass partitions.
