US oil and gas rig numbers continue to grow

The US rig count rose by four in the last week to 492 as of March 31, according to Enverus Rig Analytics. The count is up 7% in the last month but still down 28% YOY.

A region-by-region count showed a decline of four rigs in the Anadarko Basin which includes Oklahoma.

The largest week-over-week increase was in the Gulf Coast, where eight new rigs brought the total to 59, and the same basin has seen the largest gains in the last month at 17.

Seven of those rigs were added in the Eagle Ford, bringing the total to 37 in that play, and the Eaglebine increased by three to five rigs running currently.
