Another central Arkansas solar operation was scheduled to begin this week with groundbreaking in the city of Cabot.
Central Arkansas Water planned ceremonies to break ground on a 4.8 megawatt power station on a 30-acre piece of land in Cabot.
Arkansas Business reported the 12,300-panel array will be the state’s first PSC-approved net-metering facility with a capacity more than 1,000 kilowatts.
The Arkansas Solar Access Act, created in 2019 made possible the Cabot station. The act allows nonprofits, schools, government agencies and other non-taxed entities to use third-party solar service agreements to obtain federal clean energy tax benefits.
