Rep. Mullin says Biden’s latest plan is not about infrastructure

Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin has come out attacking President Biden’s $2.3 trillion road and bridge plan, stating, “It’s not about infrastructure.”

It’s what he wrote in a weekend newsletter to his constituents. The Republican Representative called it a wishlist.

“In short, this latest plan has little to do with fixing our roads and bridges and a lot to do with funding liberal priorities that will increase taxes and hurt our economy,” he stated.

Mullin is critical of the plan, pointing out that it includes $600 billion for Green New Deal programs, $400 billion in what he calls “giveaways to big labor” and billions more in funding for “absurd liberal programs.”

The congressman said less than four percent of the entire package would actually fund surface transportation improvements to bridges, roads and water systems.

“Once again, the liberal majority is taking a heavy-handed approach to pass their own priorities at the expense of the American people,” wrote Rep. Mullin.

He also charged that the package will overturn right-to-work laws in 27 states; would result in tax increases for millions of families; give $174 billion in subsidies for electric vehicles; use taxpayer dollars to make up for job losses as a result of Biden’s executive orders; and fund billions of dollars in liberal non-infrastructure provisions.
