A Missouri county that is not only home to the state’s capitol but the University of Missouri too has proposed restrictive wind farm rules and regulations.
Boone County has planned a series of public hearings after proposing new rules to require a wind energy conversion overlay district to be established before a wind farm can be developed.
The rules were proposed in response to a planned wind farm near Harris burg in northwestern Boone County and neighboring Howard County.
