The $2.2 billion spent by ONE Gas of Oklahoma during the February winter storm and resulting power losses got the attention of consumer advocacy groups in Kansas.
So did the $2.5 billion spent by Atmos Energy along with the $600 million by Black Hills Energy.
The Lawrence Journal-World in Kansas reported the out-of-sight bills prompted consumer watchdogs to sit up and wonder.
