Northwest Iowa is the site of yet another wind farm project. One or two wind farms are built every year in that sector of the state turning Iowa into one of the top wind-powered states in the country, only behind Texas.
Invenergy LLC received permission last year to build the first wind farm in Plymouth County. The project is the 200 MW Plymouth Wind Energy Center.
North American Wind Power reported there was a delay in the start of construction but work is expected to begin this spring with completion by the end of the year.
