Mullin bill part of GOP energy package in House committee

A bill by Oklahoma Rep. Markwayne Mullin to promote the permitting of cross-border pipelines and electricity transmission was part of the House Energy and Commerce Committee Republicans’ agenda unveiled last week for securing cleaner American energy.

Mullin’s bill, H.R. 575, the Promoting Cross-Border Energy Infrastructure Act was included in the package.

“We cannot stand by as President Biden continues his attack on the American energy industry. That’s why House Republicans are committed to developing energy and climate solutions that will help modernize our infrastructure while keeping the lights on at a price families can afford,” Mullin said.

He went on to state that the comprehensive energy plan will promote American energy independence and strengthen the country’s edge abroad.

“My bill, the Promoting Cross-Border Energy Infrastructure Act, is an important component of this plan and it will cut red tape and streamline the energy production process to promote job creation and economic growth.”

Rep. Mullin charged that the Securing Cleaner American Energy plan is meant to safeguard energy jobs, bolster energy reliability, and protect America’s energy industry from the far-left’s irresponsible and damaging Green New Deal government takeover.
