Workers at Continental Resources have known about it since last year but the company recently filed completion reports on two adjacent gas wells in western Oklahoma with combined production of more than 29,000 Mcf.
Both wells were in Custer County and at sites located 8 miles north of Weatherford and east of highway 54.
The Switzer 1-36-1xhm, located at 36 14N 14W had production of 13,005 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 24,230 feet in the Mississippian play.
The well had an April 2020 spud date and drilling was finished in May with completion made in July 2020.
The Truman 1-35-2xhm, located one mile west of the Switzer well at 26 14N 14W in the adjacent section, had larger production at 16,179 Mcf of natural gas from a drilling depth of 24,983 feet. The Truman had a March 2020 spud date and drilling was finished in April with completion made in August 2020.
