Increased drilling interest across the state

 

With crude oil prices in the upper $60 range, there is growing interest in more drilling in Oklahoma as witnessed by the recent permits to drill issued by the Corporation Commission.

Oklahoma City’s Chaparral Energy has become active again in drilling exploration after emerging last fall from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company received three permits to drill last week from Oklahoma regulators. The permits are for three SYCAMORE UNIT wells to be recompleted on a single pad at 27 2S 3W which is about 7 miles south of Ratliff City in Carter County.

Devon Energy received permits for four BRADFORD 23_14-15N-10W wells to be drilled at 23 15N 10W in Blaine County, one of the major counties that make up the STACK in Oklahoma. The four-well single-pad site is about 11 miles southeast of Watonga.

Devon has another four-well single-pad site in Blaine County. It received permits to drill the COLUMBINE 22_15-15N-10W wells at a site located at 27 15N 10W which is about one mile from the Bradford wells.

Red Bluff Resources Operating LLC has a permit for the JASON JR. 1505 #1-32MH well to be drilled at 06 14N 5W in Canadian County. The site is about six miles north of Piedmont.

 

Red Bluff Resources completed another Canadian County well southwest of Piedmont. The Johnny 1306 1-14mhr had production of 505 barrels of oil a day and 579 Mcf of natural gas when it was completed in January 2020.

 

Cottonmouth SWD LLC plans to drill in Kingfisher County after receiving a permit for the MOJAVE SWD #1, a site about four miles north of the town of Loyal.

The 3D Oil Company received a permit to drill the WILSON #1-33 in Pottawatomie County. The well site is about 3 miles southwest of Konawa.

K S & S Oil Company has a permit for the RICK SKINNER #16AA, in Jefferson County at 16 7S 5W. The site is northeast of Terral and along the Red River.

Bullet Energy Services plans to drill the BULLET ENERGY #3 SWD, at 27 1S 4W in Stephens County. The site is about 2 miles north of Alma.

Canyon Creek Energy Arkoma LLC received a permit for a Coal County well, the HB #2-14/11H, to be drilled at 23 2N 9E, which is about 4 miles northeast of Tupelo.

Red Rocks Oil & Gas Operating LLC has a permit for the  ANNIE HAMPTON #2 in Grady County at 14 5N 5W, a site about 2 miles north of the community of Bradley.

A Seminole County well, the ORTIZ #1-12, will be drilled by the Reach Oil and Gas Company. The site is 3 miles southeast of Maud.

Territory Resources LLC recei9ved a permit for a Grant County well, the STATE #1-33, located at 33 25N 3W which is about 4 miles south of Lamont.

Revolution Resources LLC has more drilling intentions in Oklahoma County where it has a permit for the WALDEN 1304 33-08 #1BH, a site at 33 13N 4W which is behind a shopping mall in northwest Oklahoma City.

Another Oklahoma County drilling project was permitted for Stephens & Johnson Operating Company. It plans the SALSMAN #1, at 32 11N 2W which is near SE 86th and SunnyLane Road in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City’s Continental Resources received a permit to drill a Carter County well, the BEAR CREEK ##1 SWD, at 36 1S 3W which is about two miles southeast of Ratliff City.

Arnold Oil Properties LLC has a permit to drill a Custer County well. The SCHIMMER #1-9, located at 09 14N 17W will be several miles northwest of Custer City.

XTO Energy Inc. has a Pittsburg County project. The HOLT J #9-10H3, located at 10 6N 13E is northwest of McAlester and west of the Indian Nations Turnpike.
