Energy groups keep boycott of lawmakers who fought Biden win

Republican lawmakers who voted in January against accepting President Biden’s election victory won’t be receiving any campaign contributions from two energy industry associations that joined the list of others doing the same. And that includes most of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation.

The American Clean Power Association and the Nuclear Energy Institute say their political action committees do not plan to donate to those lawmakers’ campaigns reported E & E News.

The action means campaign money from the two groups won’t be going to all but one of the seven-person, all-Republican Oklahoma delegation. Sen. Jim Inhofe did not join in the challenge of electoral votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania.

Sen. James Lankford challenged the votes but said later, “I wasn’t trying to overturn this election.”

He explained at the time he opposed the electors unless Congress created a commission to investigate allegations and claims of election fraud.
