Crude oil prices that soared to $66 in the US and $71 overseas this week plunged in both markets in Tuesday’s trading.
West Texas Intermediate crude for April delivery took a $1.04 drop to $64.01 a barrel.
Global benchmark Brent crude for May delivery dropped 72 cents to $67.52 a barrel.
Natural gas for April delivery was unchanged at $2.66 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It proved to be a day of losses for Oklahoma energy stocks. Only a handful of companies saw gains in their trading. Blueknight Energy Partners ended the day with a 7 cent increase or 2.80% gain to $2.57.
Gulfport Energy gained 1.42% to end at $0.078 cents.
LSB Industries, Inc. had a gain of 3.85% on a 16 cent hike to $4.32.
Matrix Service Co saw shares go up 26 cents to $15.21 for a 1.71% gain.
Most of the other Oklahoma energy firms reported losses.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. was unchanged at $5.78.
Chesapeake Energy dropped 9 cents for a loss of 0.20% to $44.28.
Cimarex Energy Co fell $3.69 for a 5.42% loss to $64.45.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP was unchanged at $3.08.
Devon Energy closed down 74 cents for a loss of 3.01% to $23.83.
Enable Midstream Partners LP was unchanged at $6.88.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. lost 2.53% on an 84 cent slide to $32.35.
Laredo Petroleum closed down 6 cents at $34.66 for a slight loss of 017%.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. went down 36 cents to $44.64 for a loss of not quite 1%.
Mammoth Energy lost more than 6% on a 35 cent drop to $5.39.
NGL Energy Partners LP fell 6 cents for a loss of 2.35% to $2.49.
OGE Energy dropped nearly 1% on a 28 cent fall to $31.79.
ONE Gas Inc. lost 2.17% on a drop of $1.63 to $73.39.
ONEOK, Inc. closed down 89 cents at $48.64 for a loss of 1.80%.
Ovintiv Inc lost 3.42% on a 91 cent drop to $25.72.
PHX Minerals lost 5.56% when shares fell 18 cents to $3.06.
SandRidge Energy Inc. slipped by 14 cents to $4.23 for a loss of 3.20%.
Williams Companies Inc closed at $23.56 for a decline of 56 cents and a loss of 2.32%.
Other energy stocks didn’t do well either as the Texas Energy Report indicated.
