Bridenstine’s NASA successor reportedly to be a former US Senator

If a report by VOX is confirmed, a former Democratic Senator from Florida will succeed former Oklahoma congressman Jim Bridenstine as administrator of NASA.

Bridenstine, a Republican picked by President Donald Trump during his administration, resigned Jan. 20, 2021 after serving as NASA’s 13th administrator. He was sworn in on April 23, 2018.

VOX reported Bridenstine reportedly will be replaced by Bill Nelson, a former congressman and three-term US Senator.

After his resignation, Bridenstine later joined Acorn Growth Companies, an Oklahoma City-based private equity firm that invests in aerospace, defense and intelligence. He joined the company to work as a full-time senior advisor.
