Wind turbine maker lays off 450 workers in Colorado

The same day President Biden defended his anti-fossil fuel program and spoke of good-paying renewable energy jobs, ill winds blew at wind-turbine manufacturer Vestas as the company laid off 450 workers at its Colorado manufacturing plants.

As reported by the Pueblo Chieftain, the Danish company laid off 120 workers at its tower-manufacturing plant in Pueblo along with 50 at the firm’s blade factory in Windsor. In addition, Vestas shut down its blade factory in Brighton and put 280 people out of work.

Vestas turbines and towers have been installed at various wind farms throughout Oklahoma.
