US crude starts out less than $60 a barrel

 

The big plunge in crude oil prices on Friday means investors and traders start out Monday with levels under the $60 mark in the U.S. and less than $63 in Europe.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil for March delivery fell $1.28 to $59.24 a barrel Friday. Brent crude oil for April delivery fell $1.02 to $62.91 a barrel in trading on ICE Futures Europe.

March natural gas fell too, dropping 1 cent to $3.07 per 1,000 cubic feet.

While crude oil prices fell, most Oklahoma utilities and energy stocks made gains before prices settled for the day on Friday.

Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. went up nearly 2% with an increase of 11 cents to close at $6.30.

Chesapeake Energy gained 2.33% on a $1 increase to $44.

Cimarex Energy Co increased 80 cents for a gain of 1.62% to $50.30.
Devon Energy Corp rose 29 cents to $20.83, a gain of 1.41%.
Enable Midstream Partners LP gained nearly 4% on a 23 cent increase to $6.07.
Gulfport Energy Corporation went up 4.46% to just above 9 cents.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. made a gain of 1.22% with a 32 cent increase to $26.52.
LSB Industries, Inc. went up 9 cents to $4.09, a gain of 2.25%.
Laredo Petroleum Inc had a 2 cent increase to $35.06, a gain of 0.057%.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. stocks rose $1.15 to settle at $41.49 for a gain of 2.85%.
Matrix Service Co gained 2.03% with a 26 cent increase to $13.06.
OGE Energy Corp. had a half-point gain on a 17-cent increase to $31.92.
ONE Gas Inc increased 48 cents to $74.06 for a gain of 0.65%.
ONEOK, Inc. gained 2.14% on a 96 cent jump to $45.82.
Ovintiv Inc settled at $21.36 after a 41 cent increase and a gain of nearly 2%.
PHX Minerals Inc had a more than 4% gain after a 13 cent increase to $3.34.
Williams Companies Inc finished up 38 cents at $22.64 for a gain of 1.71%.
Other Oklahoma stocks finished with losses.
Blueknight Energy Partners LP dropped 4 cents for a 1.79% loss to $2.20.
CenterPoint Energy Inc fell 37 cents to $21.43, a loss of 1.70%.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc suffered a nearly 11% loss when stocks fell 66 cents to $5.54.
NGL Energy Partners LP lost nearly 1% on a 2 cent fall to $2.46.
SandRidge Energy Inc. dropped 19 cents to $5.25, resulting in a 3.49% loss for the day.
But a lot of other energy stocks saw gains according to the Texas Energy Report.

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) down 0.01 at 21.56 – change 0.05%

EOG Resources (EOG) up 1.94 at 62.51 – change 3.20%

ExxonMobil (XOM) up 0.35 at 52.37 – change 0.67%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.18 at 14.96 – change 1.21%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.33 at 9.44 – change 3.61%

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) up 0.33 at 14.03 – change 2.40%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 0.14 at 25.42 – change 0.55%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 3.16 at 82.31 – change 3.99%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 0.93 at 133.94 – change 0.69%

Valero (VLO) up 3.70 at 71.53 – change 5.45%
