Upcoming legislative bill would defend Texas energy sector from boycotts

 

New legislation aimed at prohibiting the state of Texas from doing business with any investment firms boycotting oil and gas companies could be unveiled this week in the Texas legislature.

It’s a bill to be filed in response to investment companies and banks that have attempted to stop doing business with oil and gas firms. In short, it is “two can play this game.”

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said the Texas energy sector is being unfairly targeted by environmentalists and he believes the bill will pass easily reported the Austin Statesman American.
