OK Congresswoman joined in GOP effort to condemn Biden’s anti-oil and gas moves

Oklahoma Congresswoman Stephanie Bice was among Republicans in Congress who gathered Tuesday in Houston to criticize President Biden for his actions against the oil and gas industry.

The Freshman U.S. Representative said his policies were “decimating” the industry. She spoke during a news conference at the Port of Houston where House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California also joined in the criticism.

“I want the administration to know that you are decimating oil and gas across the country, and specifically in Oklahoma,” Bice said during the news conference.

She said Oklahoma’s oil and gas industry contributes to nearly 25% of the revenue generated for the state.

“—when you decide to, with a stroke of a pen, sign executive orders that fundamentally change the industry, it impacts every single company in my state.”

Rep. McCarthy used the news conference to explain how the GOP will fight the president’s orders by introducing legislation to save the Keystone XL pipeline and the thousands of jobs it created.

While in Houston, McCarthy outlined how the GOP plans to counter the president’s orders.

“If President Biden is serious about any unity, come to Houston,” McCarthy said. “Come to middle America. Come look in the faces of those workers who earn $80,000 a year, and tell them why you took their jobs away.”
