Obama’s old WOTUS could be resurrected

When the Obama administration created the Waters of the U.S. Rule, farm groups in Oklahoma put up a fight and eventually won as the Trump administration revoked the controversial measure.

But now with Joe Biden in the White House, it might be brought back.

POLITICO reported the Biden administration has started asking federal courts to stop litigation over the Trump administration’s Navigable Waters Protection Rule.

The news group reported Biden’s administration has filed requests with federal courts in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. It wants legal challenges to be put on hold for half a year so the administration has time to “review the rules and determine whether the rules should be maintained, modified, or otherwise reconsidered.”

The requests were made as Democratic congressman Peter DeFazio of Oregon, the House Transportation Committee Chairman asked the President to “immediately repeal” the rule.
