Natural gas line explosion in northern Oklahoma

(Enid News&Eagle)

While Oklahoma struggled with natural gas supplies to keep power plants producing electricity in the historic winter storm, some flow was interrupted when a natural gas line exploded early Thursday near the northern town of Ames.

No one was injured and the fire was eventually allowed to burn itself out according to the Enid News and Eagle.

The blast happened at a site about 1.5 miles east and 4.5 miles south of the Major County town. The paper quoted Ames Fire Chief Mike Willey who said it was either a 6 or 8-inch buried line that exploded.
