More Ovintiv drilling in Oklahoma’s STACK

 

There seems to be no letup in the 2020 drilling activity Ovintiv Mid-Continent Inc. has revealed in new completion reports filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

The latest were two Kingfisher County wells in the STACK with combined production of nearly 2,300 barrels of oil a day.

The two South Stangl 1509 wells, drilled on a single pad located at 12 15N 9W or 10 miles southwest of Kingfisher had completions in November 2020.

The largest well had production of 1,279 barrels of oil a day and 2,825 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,749 feet. It had a June 2020 spud date and drilling finished a month later according to the completion report.

The second South Stangl well produced 989 barrels of oil a day and 1,928 Mcf of natural gas. Its completion report showed a June 2020 spud date and drilling finished in August 2020 at a depth of 19,579 feet in the Mississippian.

Ovintiv isn’t finished with drilling projects in Kingfisher County. New permits to drill were issued this week for four PEARL FIU 1607 wells to be drilled on a single pad at 20 16N 7W which is approximately one mile west of the city of Kingfisher.
