Gas wells drilled in southeastern Oklahoma with renewed statewide drilling interest

Completion reports filed this week show more gas-well drilling in eastern Oklahoma.  At the same time, more permits for new drilling were issued including three wells to be drilled amidst Oklahoma City business sites.

Three reports were filed this week by Trinity Operating of Houston showing production from gas wells drilled last year in Coal and Pittsburg Counties.

The two Coal County wells were drilled on a single pad with combined natural gas production of more than 15,000 Mcf.

The two Brown 0311 wells are located at 28 3N 11E which is several miles north of Coalgate. One well produced 8,047 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 14,068 feet in the Woodford formation. It had a spud date in 2018 but completion didn’t come until October 2020.

The second Brown well produced 7,216 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 14,171 feet. It too had a November 2018 spud date with completion last fall.

Trinity’s third well was drilled in Pittsburg County. The Marguerite 3-2/11h produced 6,914 Mcf of natural gas from a site at 35 8N 17E which is several miles west of the town of Quinton.

The well had a June 2019 spud date with completion made in October 2020.
