While more states and some members of congress take steps to fight President Biden’s anti-fossil fuel moves, oil prices in the U.S. and in Europe rose again.
West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery rose 39 cents to $58.36 a barrel in Tuesday’s trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for April delivery increased 53 cents to close at $61.09 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
While oil went up, natural gas fell 4 cents to $2.84 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks had a mixed day as some firms saw slight gains.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation, on the day it came out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy with reduced debt and a new board of directors saw a 5 cent increase to $3.05 for a gain of 1.67%.
Devon Energy Corp was another firm with a slight increase in stocks as shares rose 12 cents for a nearly 1% gain to $18.87.
Enable Midstream Partners LP picked up two cents to $5.84 for a gain of 0.34%.
Gulfport Energy Corporation finished with a 2.35% gain to 8 cents a share.
LSB Industries, Inc. closed with a 5.16% gain as stocks jumped 22 cents to $4.48.
Laredo Petroleum Inc finished up 85 cents at $33.25 for a gain of 2.62%.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. closed at $41.17 with a 58 cent increase and a gain of 1.43%.
SandRidge Energy Inc. had a 9 cent increase for a gain of 1.70% to hit $5.39 at the close of the day’s trading.
Other Oklahoma energy stocks finished with losses.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. finished down 21 cents at $6.14 for a loss of 3.31%.
Blueknight Energy Partners LP lost 2.38% or 5 cents a share to close at $2.05.
Cimarex Energy Co dropped 27 cents or about half a point to $49.66.
Continental Resources, Inc. lost $1.03 to finish at $22.04 for a slide of 4.46%.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP lost 3.73% or 12 cents to close at $3.10.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. lost nearly 4% or 99 cents a share to finish the day at $25.93.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc dropped 26 cents for a loss of 5.45% to close at $4.51.
Matrix Service Co fell 72 cents to $12.61 for a loss of 5.40%.
NGL Energy Partners LP dropped slightly to $2.63 with a loss of 0.19% for the day.
OGE Energy Corp. lost 8 cents to close at $30.93 for a drop of 0.26%.
ONE Gas Inc finished down at $72.54 for a loss of only 0.0069%.
ONEOK, Inc. dropped five cents for a 0.12% loss to $43.36.
Ovintiv Inc fell 12 cents for a loss of nearly 1% to $19.98.
PHX Minerals Inc lost 4.34% or 15 cents and slipped to $3.31.
Williams Companies Inc lost 1.07% or 24 cents to $22.26.
