Rep. Cole blasts Biden’s destructive energy policies–calls them ‘misguided’

Oklahoma Republican Congressman Tom Cole says the President’s executive order freezing all new oil and gas drilling on federal land is not only a “misguided moratorium” but shows Biden “making political decisions to accommodate the most radical wing of his party.”

In a statement after the President’s action Wednesday at the White House, Rep. Cole said, “Within the first week of Joe Biden’s presidency, he has dealt harmful blows to our oil, gas and coal industries.”

First he killed the Keystone XL pipeline and destroyed American jobs.

“Continuing down the same destructive path for the future of U.S. energy development, President Biden this week laid out plans that will stop oil, gas and coal leasing on federal lands,” added the Representative.

He said the decisions are extremely problematic because stopping production of oil and gas on federal lands will cost thousands of American jobs and deny revenue to state and local governments.

Cole said the actions will raise the prices of gasoline and utilities for Americans and leave their wallets much thinner.

“I am incredibly disappointed at the direction President Biden and Democrats want to take our country in with these plans.”
