Oil prices fall again after more of Biden’s anti-oil and gas moves

 

Crude futures took another blow on Friday as oil fell again.

West Texas Intermediate crude, considered the benchmark of U.S. oil prices fell 66 cents at $52.27 for March delivery. That’s a drop of 1.62%.

Global benchmark Brent Crude for March delivery dropped 69 cents and finished the day at $55.41 in trading on the ICE Futures Europe. It amounted to a loss of 1.23%.

Natural gas prices finished down too. They dropped 4 cents to close at $2.45 per MMBtu.

While crude oil futures were down on Friday as the Biden administration continued waging its war on oil and gas, at least one Oklahoma energy company saw a big jump in its stock prices.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s stock show up more than 22% as shares increased 89 cents to reach $4.89 for the day.

Other Oklahoma firms had a so-so day with many seeing continued losses.

Alliance Resource Partners lost 2 cents for a 0.38% slide to $5.23 per share.

 Blueknight Energy Partners LP finished up 2 cents for a 1% gain to $2.04.

Cimarex Energy Co lost 14 cents and closed at $44.33.

Continental Resources, Inc. saw an 11 cent increase as shares finished at $19.02 for a gain of 0.58%.
Devon Energy Corp lost 59 cents for a drop of 3.21% to $17.80.
Enable Midstream Partners LP dropped 6 cents for a 1% loss to $5.52.
Gulfport Energy Corporation  finished Friday’s trading with a 9% gain to 9 cents a share.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. closed up 76 cents for a 3% gain to $25.34.
LSB Industries, Inc. settled at $3.68 for a 7 cent loss of about 2%.
Laredo Petroleum Inc had a 75 cent increase of 3% as shares rose to $25.10.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. suffered a 48 cent loss of 1% and stocks closed at $45.84.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc finished up 22 cents for a 5% gain to $4.79.
 NGL Energy Partners LP dropped 5% as shares fell 15 cents to $2.98.
OGE Energy Corp. closed up 6 cents for a 0.19% gain to $31.36.
ONE Gas Inc tacked on 17 cents to close at $70.79 for a gain of only 0.24%.
ONEOK (OKE) down 0.03 at 42.84 – change 0.07%.
Ovintiv Inc closed up a dime for a gain of 0.59% as shares finished at $17.15.
PHX Minerals Inc fell 4 cents for a loss of 1.31% to $3.01.
Williams Companies Inc lost 7 cents for a slide of 0.32% to $21.60.

A lot of other energy stocks were down too as the Texas Energy Report indicated on Friday.

Energy Transfer LP (ET) down 0.12 at 6.50 – change 1.82%

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) down 0.86 at 21.56 – change 3.84%

EOG Resources (EOG) down 0.17 at 54.86 – change 0.31%

ExxonMobil (XOM) down 0.68 at 47.43 – change 1.42%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.06 at 15.32 – change 0.39%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) down 0.10 at 8.15 – change 1.22%

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) up 0.02 at 13.41 – change 0.14%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) down 0.05 at 21.49 – change 0.24%

Phillips 66 (PSX) down 0.61 at 72.55 – change 0.84%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 1.15 at 131.16 – change 0.89%

Valero (VLO) up 0.59 at 59.45 – change 1.00%
