Newest Texas Railroad Commissioner sworn into office

The newest Railroad Commissioner of Texas took part Wednesday in his first meeting. Jim Wright took his oath of office as the 51st commissioner earlier in the week.

“Oil and natural gas will make up the majority of our nation’s energy for decades to come and it is best for our state, our nation and the world if that energy is produced right here in Texas,” said Wright in a statement.

He again repeated he will work to streamline enforcement and also increase transparency at the Commission, a state agency with 850 employees in Austin and district offices located across the state.
