Keystone XL May Be Sold for Scrap If Biden Moves to Kill It

Even as reports speculate that President-elect Biden will cancel the controversial Keystone XL pipeline project, reports indicate a Canadian province that invested more than $1 billion in taxpayers’ money in the project is considering its own action.

Alberta leaders admit they might have to sell pipe and materials in order to recover an estimated $1.1 billion in money.

Yahoo Finance quoted Alberta Premier Jason Kenney during a news conference where he said, “If the project ends, there would be assets that could be sold, such as enormous quantities of pipe.”

If the line were to be constructed, oil from Canada would eventually be shipped to Cushing, Oklahoma where it would be transported through the original Keystone pipeline installed several years ago.
