Another Permian Basin natural gas pipeline considered by regulators

West Texas and eastern New Mexico could be getting another natural gas pipeline. Double E Pipeline LLC, owned by units of Summit Midstream Partners, LP and Exxon Mobil Corp. applied with federal energy regulators to build a 135-miline line.

Double E is proposing a line to carry an estimated 1.35 billion cubic feet of gas a day from the Delaware Basin in the Permian in New Mexico and Texas to the Waha hub in Wet Texas according to a report by Reuters.

Exxon Mobil owns 30% and Summit Midstream Partners owns the remaining 70% of the proposed line.

The filing came only a day after Kinder Morgan announced its Permian Basin gas line became operational this week. Other gas lines are under construction and expected to be available this year.

One is the WhiteWater Midstream project and the other is MPLX LP’s Agua Blanca line.
