$52 oil is here and not falling
Crude oil futures in the U.S. managed a one cent increase in Monday’s trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange while overseas, crude prices fell.
West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery finished the day at $52.25 a barrel, maintaining the recent grasp of prices topping the $52 mark.
Global benchmark Brent crude oil for March delivery slipped 33 cents to $55.66 in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
February natural gas rose 5 cents to $2.75 per 1,000 cubic feet.
At least three Oklahoma energy companies experienced surges in their stocks in Monday’s trading amidst the crude oil price changes.
Gulfport Energy Corporation saw stocks increase about 2 cents a share, moving to 12 cents and a gain of more than 19%.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation had a nearly 13% gain after stocks jumped 55 cents and settled at $4.85. SandRidge Energy had a nearly 9% gain after its shares increased by 30 cents and finished the day at $3.81.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. had no change and its shares stayed at $5.04 in Monday’s trading.
Blueknight Energy Partners LP lost 7 cents for a 3.37% decline to $2.01.
Continental Resources, Inc. settled up 33 cents at $19.36 for a nearly 2% gain for the day.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP dropped 17 cents for a 6.44% slide to $2.47.
Devon Energy Corp shares rose 22 cents or 1.21% to finish the day at $18.33.
Enable Midstream Partners LP stocks finished up 18 cents for a 3.35% gain to $5.56.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. dropped 15 cents for a nearly 1% loss to $25.21.
LSB Industries, Inc. shares fell 9 cents or 2.24% to $3.92.
Laredo Petroleum Inc finished the day at $24.54 for a 60 cent increase and a 2.51% gain.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. had a 39 cent increase or 1% gain to $45.25.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc closed up 15 cents at $4.47 for a 3.47% gain.
Matrix Service Co shares increased 6 cents to $11.60, a gain of 0.52%.
NGL Energy Partners LP fell 6 cents a share for a 2.15% loss to $2.73.
OGE Energy Corp. lost 44 cents or 1.37% to $31.63.
ONE Gas Inc lost 69 cents a share for a 1% drop to $71.92.
ONEOK, Inc. shares surged $1.30 for a 3.26% gain to $41.23.
Ovintiv Inc stock finished up 6 cents at $17.12, a gain of 0.35%.
PHX Minerals Inc closed at $2.40 for a 9 cent increase and a gain of 3.90%.
Williams Companies Inc finished up 21 cents a share for a 1% gain to $21.51.
Other energy companies had a mixed Monday according to the Texas Energy Report.

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.25 at 14.74 – change 1.72%
Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.09 at 7.64 – change 1.19%
