While OPEC+ continued squabbling over possibly ending its extension of restrictions on oil production, crude prices were mixed in Wednesday’s trading, falling in the U.S. and climbing in Europe.
West Texas Intermediate crude for January delivery ended down 43 cents for a nearly 1% fall to $44.85. However, during the day its price reached nearly $46 a barrel.
Global benchmark Brent crude in London finished up 83 cents for a nearly 2% gain to $48.25 in trading on the ICE Futures Europe.
The price change came after Reuters reported that some in the extended oil cartel want to keep oil production at current levels. A decision might come on Thursday.
Oklahoma energy companies saw increases in the value of their shares in Wednesday’s trading.
One of the largest gains was made by Mammoth Energy Services Inc. where shares rose 19 cents for a gain of 9.22% and settled at $2.25 for the day.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. rose 30 cents for a 6.76% gain to $4.74. Blueknight Energy Partners LP Common Stock slipped 5 cents for a drop of 2.87% to $1.69. Chesapeake Energy Corporation dropped one cent to $2.46 per share.
Continental Resources, Inc. saw a 47 cent jump amounting to 3.07% to reach $15.78 per share. Cypress Environmental Partners LP dropped 4 cents or 1.69% to finish the day at $2.33.
Devon Energy Corp had a nearly 6% gain following an 80 cent jump in shares to hit $14.80.
Enable Midstream Partners LP rose 35 cents for a gain of 6.57% and settled at $5.68. Gulfport Energy Corporation’s 1 cent increase amounted to a nearly 13% gain as its shares reached 10 cents. Helmerich & Payne, Inc. registered a 63 cent increase or 2.70% gain to $23.97. LSB Industries, Inc. finished up one cent at $2.73.
Laredo Petroleum Inc. ended the day at $12.01, up 19 cents for a gain of 1.61%. Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. finished up 93 cents at $42.07 for a gain of 2.26%. Matrix Service Co saw a dime increase amounting to a gain of 1% and ended the day at $9.81.
NGL Energy Partners LP rose 18 cents for an 8% gain to $2.45.
OGE Energy Corp. finished up 32 cents or 1% at $33.02. ONE Gas Inc. ended up 16 cents at $79.12 per share.
ONEOK, Inc. had a 2.80% gain after shares rose $1.02 to hit $37.47. Ovintiv Inc. had a 43 cent increase or 3.35% gain to $13.27. PHX Minerals Inc. finished up a dime per share for a 5.85% gain to $1.81.
SandRidge Energy Inc. shares rose 17 cents or 6.27% to reach $2.88. WPX Energy Inc. finished at $7.56 following a 42 cent a share increase or 5.96%. Williams Companies Inc. rose 74 cents or 3.54% at $21.65.
