Snow’s not finished with Oklahoma

More snow is in the forecast this week for parts of Oklahoma. It also means much colder weather with temperatures well into the teens and lower to be faced by any energy workers outdoors.

State Climatologist Gary McManus with the Oklahoma Mesonet, who likes to keep a humorous slant to his weather forecasts reported the Monday morning low temperature in the state was two degrees in the Panhandle town of Hooker.

He’s predicting even lower temperatures on Wednesday and several inches of new snow.

Snow amounts on Sunday ranged from four to eight inches in many regions of the state.

” And oh by the way, parts of Oklahoma have had more snow than Chicago, New York City, and MOST OF NORTH DAKOTA!” he wrote in his Monday morning Mesonet update.

“Now just watch…we’ll have 70s on Christmas Day with 45 mph winds and blowing dust.”

The Tuesday forecast includes snow for the northern half of the state stretching from the border with Texas east to the state line with Arkansas.
