New headquarters for OKC’s SandRidge Energy

After selling its downtown high-rise office tower, Oklahoma City’s SandRidge Energy has relocated just about two blocks away in the city’s Bricktown Entertainment district.

In a filing made this past week with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said its new headquarters are now located at 1 E. Sheridan Avenue, Suite 500. It is the old Candy Factory building, a 7-story brick building that sits just east of the railroad tracks and immediately adjacent to the American Banjo Museum.

The SEC filing indicated the company made the move to the 7-story Candy Factory building effective Dec. 1, 2020 and that its telephone number of 405-429-5500 will remain the same.

SandRidge’s former office tower, shown believe was sold to the state in September in a nearly $35 million deal.

At last word, the Oklahoma Tax Commission, Department of Health and Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department had moved into some of the offices.

At one time, SandRidge nearly 1,900 full-time employees. That was six years ago but by 2016, its numbers had been trimmed to slightly more than 600 and by the summer of 2019, the company had only 280 employees.
