Judge bars Oklahoma from enforcing RR crossing law

A railroad company that challenged Oklahoma’s 2019 state law against blocking streets has won a federal court lawsuit in Oklahoma City.

U.S. District Judge Charles B. Goodwin has ruled the law unconstitutional and permanently barred the state from enforcing the law in a challenge filed by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railway company.

The Oklahoman reported the judge said the state law contradicts the powers of the Interstate Commerce Commission Termination Act.
