Colorado wants a Front Range rail passenger service

In Colorado, they’re proposing a Front Range rail passenger project that has a nearly $2 billion price tag with it.

Stretching from Fort Collins in the north to Colorado Springs south of Denver, the service would use existing freight rail tracks. High speed? No. Average speed would be 45 miles an hour for the two to six round trips daily between the two cities.

Colorado Public Radio reports a second phase of the project would be adding service between Colorado Springs and Pueblo and it would carry a cost of nearly $300 million.
