Arkansas researchers work to develop cyber protection for power grid

 

Taking a cue from the 2015 cyber hacking attack that left 250,000 Ukrainians without electric power, researchers in Arkansas are study ways to use artificial intelligence to protect the state’s electric grid.

Natural State researchers are working to develop artificial intelligence tools that can help protect the electric grid and other vital infrastructure from outside attacks.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports computer science professors at the University of Arkansas along with the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. are developing sophisticated computer programs to spot cyber vulnerabilities.
