As crude oil futures and energy stocks prepare to wrap up trading for 2020, crude oil in the U.S. and in Europe saw gains in Wednesday’s trading. So did Oklahoma energy trading.
West Texas Intermediate crude, considered the benchmark U.S. oil rose 40 cents for February delivery and finished the day at $48.40 a barrel.
Brent crude, the global benchmark had a 25 cent gain on February delivery and ended the day at $51.34 a barrel in trading at ICE Futures Europe.
Oklahoma energy stocks did better in Wednesday’s trading as some saw 5 and 6% gains for the day.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. saw a nearly 5% gain after a 20 cent increase and shares closed at $4.50.
Blueknight Energy Partners LP fell 7 cents to $1.99 for a drop of 3.40%.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation closed down 24 cents for a nearly 13% drop to $1.66.
Continental Resources, Inc. saw a 32 cent increase or about a 2% gain to $16.84.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP settled at $2.28 for a 2 cent increase amounting to a nearly 1% gain for the day.
Devon Energy Corp’s shareholder approval of its merger with WPX led to an 83 cent jump to $16.14 and a 5.42% gain for the day.
Enable Midstream Partners LP finished up 3 cents for not quite a 1% gain to $5.26 per share.
Gulfport Energy Corporation made a 5.15% gain for the day and finished at 4 cents a share.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. added 9 cents to finish at $23.58.
LSB Industries, Inc. lost 4 cents for a slide of 1.54% to $2.55.
Laredo Petroleum Inc jumped 82 cents for a 4.26% gain and finished the day at $20.08.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. lost 18 cents and settled at $42.16 and a slide of 0.43%.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc dropped 13 cents to $4.16 for a 3.03% loss.
Matrix Service Co added one cent to finish at $11.14.
NGL Energy Partners LP closed down 6 cents at $2.43 and a loss of 2.41%.
OGE Energy Corp. rose 53 cents to $31.55 for a gain of 1.71%.
ONE Gas Inc gained 10 cents to close at $75.90.
ONEOK, Inc. saw a one cent increase to $38.12
Ovintiv Inc saw a more than 3% gain after shares jumped 43 cents to finish at $14.47.
PHX Minerals Inc closed at $2.30 with an 8 cent increase and a 3.60% gain.
SandRidge Energy Inc. finished up 3 cents for a 1% gain to $3.07.
WPX Energy Inc shares jumped 47 cents for a nearly 6% gain to $8.35 after company shareholders approved its merger with Devon Energy.
Williams Companies Inc lost 15 cents to close at $19.94 for about a 1% slide downward.
