A report by Reuters indicated more U.S. Midwest refiners are taking steps to ship more gasoline and diesel to East Coast buyers because of closures of refineries and cutbacks at others.
Refiners such as BP and Husky Energy are looking to East Coast markets to increase their sales and margins. One energy group analyst described the move as “a firehose to the East Coast.”
