Phillips 66 adopts Google Pay at its gas pumps

Phillips 66 is launching a new way of paying for gasoline at its 7,000 sites across the U.S. Drivers will be able to use Google Pay at Phillips 66, Conoco and 76 branded stations.

The company announced it has worked with P97 Networks, considered a leader in cloud-based mobile commerce. As a result, it will eliminate the swiping of a credit card at the pumps.

Drivers will be able to locate, fill up and pay for fuel at the stations within the Google Pay app using P97 Networks’ mobile payment gateway.

Google Pay is available on both Android and iOS.

“This new capability will dramatically improve the fueling experience for drivers at the pump,” Donald Frieden, founder and CEO of P97 said. “We are excited to be collaborating with Phillips 66 and Google Pay to build the foundation for future innovations in mobility solutions.”
