Texas Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher, the author of the Fossil Energy Research and Development Act of 2019 which expanded federal research into carbon capture will deliver a talk Tuesday at the University of Texas’s Energy Institute Symposium.
The District 7 U.S. Representative will speak about congressional priorities for U.S. energy policy in the upcoming 117th Congress during the zoom presentation. Rep. Fletcher also chairs the House Science, Space and Technology Committee’s Subcommittee on Energy and sits on the Subcommittee on Environment.
She’s known for her advocacy for clean and reliable energy at home and around the world as well as what she perceives is an urgency of climate change.
While being a strong advocate for climate change action, the Congresswoman has also come out against proposed bans of fracking and offshore oil drilling.
The presentation will be from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday and will be available Online via Zoom meeting and the Energy Institute’s YouTube livestream.
