Crude oil futures ended Thanksgiving week with a mixed result but it also gave hope to investors and traders that West Texas Crude is slowly on the rise.
WTI futures had a 7.3% gain for the week, the largest one-week increase since Oct. 9. It was also the fourth consecutive week of making gains.
On Friday, WTI for January delivery dropped 18 cents or 0.8% to finish the day at $45.53 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It made a 1.8% gain on Wednesday and the markets were closed on Thursday.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose 38 cents or 0.8% and finished the day at $48.18 a barrel in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
Oklahoma energy stocks by a large saw declines in Friday’s trading with a few exceptions including Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. where a 30-cent-a-share increase resulted in a nearly 7% gain to $4.64.
