Colorado oil and gas regulators finalize new rules for the drilling industry

 

Set in stone—new Colorado rules requiring a 2,000 foot drilling setback from homes and schools.

The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission finalized the rule changes this week in a move that it indicated was to prioritize public health and safety and the environment when it comes to deciding whether to approve oil and gas drilling permits.

The Colorado Sun reported the changes are the result of a bill signed into law last April by Gov. Jared Polis.
