Best ranked tech cities? None in Oklahoma

A large swath of middle U.S.A. is void of any cities making the 2020 list of CompTIA’s Tech Town Index…a list of those cities with the best high technology industries.

Oklahoma didn’t make the list. Neither did Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas. But two cities in Texas were on the list and some in Colorado made it as well.

Austin and Dallas made the top of the list according to the Computing Technology Industry Association, a non-profit trade group that focuses on the IT industry.

CompTIA publishes the annual list and this year said it shows amid the COVID-19 pandemic, “there remains a need for a skilled, tech-ready workforce nationwide.”

The organization said technology jobs are still in demand even as Americans deal with job losses and salary cuts. CompTIA cited 3,782,408 IT job postings in the U.S. in the past year.
