Special Corporation Commission meeting set for Wednesday

Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners will hold a special meeting Wednesday where they might make a decision on the hiring of a Deputy Director of the agency’s Oil and Gas Conservation Division.

Staff members last week gave their recommendation on a top candidate to assist in the running of the division, but commissioners delayed a decision.  Commissioner Bob Anthony’s move for a vote on the recommended candidate did not get a second so the issue was not decided. But the matter is again on the agenda.

The commission has been under pressure from legislators and industry representatives for the past few months to hire a Deputy Director to assist in the duties of the division.

The agenda also includes a hearing and possible vote on Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company’s motion to fight a commission decision that the firm violated the Retail Electric Supplier Certified Territory Act. CKenergy Cooperative, Inc. challenged OGE’s offering of service in the Binger-based company’s territory.

The meeting begins at 10:30 a.m.
