OU Energy Institute to Address Innovation in Power Sector in Sept. 30 Webcast

Kevin Fitzgerald, a catalyst and thought leader in the power sector technology investing community, will speak about “Innovation for the New Energy Era” in the University of Oklahoma Energy Institute’s Sept. 30 webcast.

Fitzgerald, partner and chief utility officer at Energy Impact Partners, will address the evolution of innovation in the industry in terms of power supply and delivery and what the power sector of the future could look like.

Launched in June, “The Future of Energy” webcast series features guest speakers and covers such topics in the energy sector as hydrocarbon, renewables and energy in transition. The complimentary episodes are available online at price.ou.edu/energywebcast.

In this month’s episode, Tom Flaherty, senior vice president at Strategy&, a part of the PwC network, and a member of the Energy Institute’s Board of Advisors, will serve as moderator.

Fitzgerald, who is based in Washington, D.C., and New York City, spent his career in the energy industry as a lawyer and senior business executive prior to becoming a partner and investment committee member for Energy Impact Partners.

As a collaborative strategic investment firm, EIP invests in companies that are optimizing energy consumption and improving sustainable energy generation.

As part of the Michael F. Price College of Business, the Energy Institute is home to the Executive MBA in Energy program. The institute provides a community of practitioners and academics to advance innovative and sustainable solutions to the critical energy challenges facing the nation and, more broadly, the global community through education, research and outreach.
