Corporation Commissioners keep their headquarters closed

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners to extend their early-March order to close the Jim Thorpe headquarters to the public.

In a Tuesday meeting, commissioners voted 3-0 to extend the order to November 15. It was their fourth extension of the original order.

Tim Rhodes, Director of Administration informed commissioners that work is still underway.

“The agency is in full compliance with the Governor’s order,” he explained, adding that about 20 to 25% of the Commission’s staff as well as other energy agencies still report to their respective headquarters. Some of the staff are on a rotational basis in appearing in-person for work while others work remotely.
